It’s different from the rest. Nan
Cunningham Studio is a true atelier
where the artist-in-residence
group comprised of Nan Cunningham,
Lida Sease, Sam Butner and Steve Fox
actually produces the work in-house,
and a visitor can stop by and see art
in the making. There is something new
happening everyday. Painting,
collage and print workshops are
taught several times a week. The
“Taste of Art” series is extremely
popular. A total beginner can come
and produce a finished painting in
one night and the veteran can “brush
up” on his skills. Some afternoons a
visitor to the gallery will find a
jumping jam session of live music
with Sam Butner on his trumpet,
playing with his musician friends.
There might be a workshop, a
gathering of artists discussing
their craft or a party goin’ on.
It’s the new creative place to be!
